Hope is not I hope so hope, its I know so hope

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

Hebrews 11:1

When the Bible talks about hope it means something entirely different than what most people define hope to be. If you ask people what the word hope means to them it’s no surprise to get a definition that aligns more with a wish than with a promise. To hope in the Lord is to hope in a sure thing. Not only is our God faithful and true, He is trust worthy. Jesus said in John 10:37-38, “Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work. But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.” Basically Jesus was saying, “I walk the talk and I talk the walk” because they are one and the same. If Jesus said it, He did it, and everything He did, He promised He would do.

It’s no wonder then that the psalmist would declare, “No one who (hopes) in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you” (Psalm 25:3-5). Because God is for us we don’t need to go into today with blind optimism. We can approach today with radical hope! "They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” Let your hope be in Jesus to carry you forward remembering…

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
