The Power of One

“For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.”

Ephesians 4:4–6

Oh if you and I could comprehend the power of one that the apostle Paul has in mind as he pens a letter to the church at Ephesus. The apostle was writing to remind the church that they were unique, they were special and they needed to live each day knowing it. What was true then is just as true now! Paul wrote to remind them there is just one body of Christ, the church. God’s intention was that we be one in Him, not factions or fractions as those are man made. There is only one Holy Spirit amongst all the demonic spirits at work in the world today. You can always easily identify the Holy Spirit as everything the Spirit does is in complete harmony with the written Word of God.

Our hope and our future is in and with Jesus forever in heaven! There are not degrees of heaven or levels. We are one in Christ and one day we will be living and enjoying life in the Father’s house. There is only one Lord and His name is Jesus Christ, just as there is one true faith. Sadly, every faith that is not rooted in Jesus Christ will in the end prove to be nothing and of no benefit. One baptism isn’t speaking of water baptism to the exclusion of being baptized by the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul sees one baptism as being immersed into Christ Jesus. One baptism means being “all in” in our relationship with Jesus Christ, totally submerged. We have one God and Father who as our Creator is over all and in all and living through all who have come to Him by faith, trusting in God for the forgiveness of our sins and the promise of new life.

Don’t forget that the one body is made up of individual parts, meaning me and you. Though we are different we are one! What I’m saying is you are one and oh if we only understood the power of one and what a difference one can make! Here’s a little something to think about today when you consider the power of one. I saw this quote yesterday. When you think of the power of one or the difference one can make always begin with God. When you and I turn to the One everything in this life begins to fall into place. I am not saying easy, I am saying possible. You can do all things (to glorify Jesus) through Christ who strengthens you!

The Power of One

One tree can start a forrest.
One smile can begin a friendship;
One hand can lift a soul;
One word can frame a goal;
One candle can wipe out darkness;
One laugh can conquer gloom;
One hope can raise your spirits;
One touch can show you care;
One life can make a difference,
Be That One Today

Remember, with God you are a majority!

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20–21

I LOVE YOU!
