How To Face Your Fears

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

1 John 4:18

Fear paralyzes its victims whereas love empowers us to do extraordinary things. How quickly we can forget that the most inspiring person is the one overcoming the fear of doing something not the one who is good at it. Faith not only pleases God it encourages others. Here’s something to think about today, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” wrote the apostle Paul in the book of Philippians. Success comes in cans not cant’s. Whatever God has called you to do today you can accomplish without fear as God provides everything you need to succeed as the apostle went on to say, “My God shall supply all of your needs by His riches and glory that are in Christ Jesus.”

What would you do for God today if you knew you could not fail? Some of the greatest hero’s we read of in the Bible doubted themselves. Men like Moses, the spies who went into the Promised Land, Gideon and Isaiah all doubted themselves but they didn’t doubt God and thats all that matters. Don’t limit what God can do through you. Yes, understand your limitations as Jesus himself said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing” but that “In Me you can do all things.” Yes, loved one, “greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world.”

Face your fears today! Don’t forget that the opposite of fear is not courage but love. The way to conquer our fears isn’t to focus on them and attempt to muster up the strength to overcome what troubles us. Rather, focus your attention on the size of your God. Grow in the knowledge of Christ and who He is and what God can do. In other words the best way to face your fears today is to focus on the face of God.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
