I've Got You

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

We don’t need to live in fear of the devil when greater is He who is in you. I shared last week, “Don’t underestimate the devil but don’t overestimate him either.” Remember he is a created being and is subject to the Lord just like me and you. If you belong to Jesus you are safe in His hands as He is safe in the Father’s hands. Thinking about being safe in Jesus hands reminds me of a song my wife sent me years ago that I hope speaks to you today like it does me. The song is by Casting Crowns, and it’s titled, “In The Hands of The Potter.” The words of the song go like this…

Keep this lyric from the song in mind today, “God’s love is shaping you, and the enemy is afraid of what you are becoming in Jesus.” That’s what the apostle Paul is reminding us in Romans 9:20, “But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" What we need to do is like the song says, “And I know Your way is best, Lord, help me find my rest, And I’ll be the clay in the Hands of the Potter.” After all, God’s Word is clear on this, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). Isn’t that what the song is communicating to us, “My world is spinning, my life seems so out of control, Nailed, scarred hands tell the story of love that will never let go of me, Through the sunshine or rain, I know where my hope is found, What You started in me, I know You will complete from the inside out.” The key is from the inside out. Just keep trusting Jesus!



What ever you are going through today you aren’t going through it alone. God is with you and has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Jesus will be by your side every step of the way offering you His nail scarred hands that provide comfort like only His hands can. You are safe in the Father’s hand as well as the Son’s. That’s double protection so relax and enjoy the journey listening for His voice.


“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
