Bundle Up!

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts”

Like you, there are certain things I put on every day that I would never even consider leaving the house without doing first. Like that old American Express commercial from years ago that said whatever you do before you leave the house to make sure you, “Don’t leave home without it” speaking of your American Express credit card. It was a good commercial obviously because even all these years later I still remember it. What are some things you would never leave home without? For some it might be a wallet or a purse, a cell phone or smart device, car keys or medication? The list probably could go on and on.

Are you aware the Bible teaches us to not leave home without first putting on some things? The apostle Paul says before even putting our underwear on we should “put on” Jesus Christ. And that’s just the beginning. Here’s a list of things the bible says we should “put on” every day. Put on the new man and as well, put on the whole armor of God piece by piece. Paul goes on to say, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.”

Yes, loved one, before you head out the door look in the mirror and make sure everything is in place. It can be a cold world out there, so bundle up in your most holy faith and don’t leave home without first putting on Jesus Christ! He will do more than keep you warm. Jesus will light the way!
