The Past, Present, or Future?

“That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; and God requires an account of what is past.”

Ecclesiastes 3:15

One reason I enjoy social media is because I can get information encapsulated allowing me to get through a lot more content in a shorter period of time. Being the end of another year I have found a plethora of encouragement on how to look at this past year while anticipating the next. Many will say to approach this past year, good or bad the same way the apostle Paul did his own life and that was “forgetting those things which are behind and pressing forward to what lies ahead.” I like that advice especially if this past year is one you would just a soon forget.

Others say to press on looking unto Jesus who is the author and perfecter of our faith. They say the best is still yet to be because Jesus is currently preparing a place for us and that one day we will be with Him in glory and even though our eyes have not seen nor has our ears heard all the glorious things God has prepared for us who love Him we get glimpses of them in our spirit. I like that advice because of the hope it constantly provides.

And then there are those who encourage us to just enjoy the moment because we don’t have a promise of tomorrow. They say, yesterday is history, tomorrow’s mystery, today is a gift and thats why we call it the present. So true! Today is a gift from God and reminds me of what the psalmist declared, “this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Remember this today, your past is forgiven, your present situation is manageable and your future is secure all because of Jesus who is the same, yesterday, today and forever!

I LOVE YOU!
