A Safe bet

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.”

Jeremiah 17:7

I don’t gamble but if I did I would put all my money on Jesus. Gambling is big business! I grew up thinking gambling was something people did in Las Vegas while on vacation. I remember as a kid flying into Las Vegas with my family while on vacation and my dad stopping to play a slot machine in the airport while walking to board our plane and he won. Looking back as my mom was rushing us kids to get on the plane the slot machine started making all kinds of noise with sirens and whistles going off as it paid out my dad. He was laughing and running to catch up stuffing his pockets full of money.

Are you aware that the Bible contains hundreds of prophecies, dozens already fulfilled by Jesus Christ? I read the odds of Jesus fulfilling just 8 prophecies, Born at Bethlehem, Preceded by a Messenger, Enter Jerusalem on a Donkey, Betrayed by a friend, sold for 30 pieces of silver, money thrown into God’s house and used to buy a Potter’s field, Silent before His accusers, and crucified between two thieves is 1 in 10 to the 17th power, thats a number 1 with 17 zero’s behind it, equaling 100 quadrillion! To picture the odds, imagine covering the state of Texas with silver dollars two feet deep. Mark one silver dollar with a red X. Blindfold someone and tell them to pick the marked coin. The odds of them finding it are 1 in 10 to the 17th power, the same odds of Jesus fulfilling just 8 of the dozens of prophecies He has already fulfilled.

Jesus is who He claims to be! You can bank on it. Like the bumper sticker, “God said it, I believe it, that settles it” we are wise to trust everything the Bible says since it was Jesus who said in Matthew 24:35 regarding end times prophecy, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” In other words Jesus is a safe bet!
