Message From An Inn Keeper

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Luke 2:7–8

I bet if we could talk to the Inn Keeper there in Bethlehem who turned away Mary and Jospeh, (he or she) would have wished they would have made more room for Jesus. I bet if we were all honest, looking back over our own lives we all wish we would have made more room too. I know I do.

The good news this Christmas is it’s not too late for us to make more room for Jesus. Like John the Baptist, we can live with that same resolve each day, “I must decrease that He might increase.” Don’t let the busyness of life or the Christmas season crowd out Jesus. Trust me, it’s easy to do. Make more room!

Revelation 3:20 is a great reminder to us all of just how easy it is to get caught up in busyness that we even leave Jesus on the outside of our worship. John writes Jesus words, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

Christmas is our proof that God is knocking at the door of our hearts and that He wants in. Make the most of your Christmas this year and make sure to open the door, and to make more room in our own Inn (heart) for Jesus.

I LOVE YOU!
