Baby Reveal

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf.”

Micah 5:2

Like most people I throughly enjoy a baby reveal, especially those that get captured and shared on social media. Couples will go to great lengths to let their families and friends know that they are having a baby or to reveal the baby’s gender in advance of the birth. Some reveals are like a full on Broadway production with cast and crew and yet none can compare to what took place that first Christmas morning at the revealing of our Savior. Christmas is the baby reveal of all reveals that was thousands of years in the making. Talk about a long drum roll!

Just think, God the Father began His baby reveal details all the way back in Genesis 3:15 and then some 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ with prophetic messages of the town he would be born. Since the wait was so long most of the world had forgotten the promises God had made, but not everyone! There were the Magi who kept watch and continued to hope that a Messiah would come and rescue God’s people. When the fullness of time had come for Jesus to be born the Father began stirring the hearts of the people with a prophetic message of Jesus birth. Even the government got involved by ordering a census that would bring Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem. Then God aligned the stars in the heavens to point the way to where the baby would be. We can’t forget the angel Gabriel and how he made personal visits to Elizabeth, Mary and Jospeh to share important details regarding the baby reveal and everyones role in Jesus birth.

If that wasn’t enough, there was so much excitement that even the angelic hosts couldn’t contain their joy as the heavenly choir joined in celebrating and praising God saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Yes, Christmas is the story of Jesus Christ, the baby reveal of all baby reveals, and though we might not have a video clip to capture it we have God’s Word on it, Immanuel.

I LOVE YOU!
