God Is Up To Something Good!

“whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.”

1 Peter 1:8–9

Have you ever felt as if God was distant in your life or that pretty much everyone you know is somehow keenly aware of His presence while you struggle to understand your current circumstances? If so, just know you are not alone. I find it interesting when reading the book of Esther that you don’t find the name of God mentioned even once and yet in the story of Esther you can’t miss in every chapter the fact that though God’s name is not mentioned it is clear that God is working behind the scenes fulfilling His promise of a hope and a future. The book of Esther is a wonderful reminder for us all of the providential care of God and His faithfulness to us even when we can’t see Him or hear His voice.

Though Esther is shown to have great courage as she declares, “If I perish I perish” by going before the king without being summoned, the book of Esther reveals to us that God can and does work in human history even in the midst of moral ambiguity. Esther and Mordecai were far from perfect, and despite the exile, despite the moral compromise God didn’t give up on or abandon His people or the promises He made. God is always working behind the scenes of our lives to bring us to a glorious end and not because we are faithful, but because He is! Remember that when God feels distant and you don’t see His hand, God sees you, and He is near!

I LOVE YOU!
