You Have A Story To Tell

You Have A Story To Tell

Everyone loves a good love story. Because you have read the Bible you know it’s a story about God’s redemption from Genesis to Revelation. God in Christ Jesus redeeming people and restoring them back to a relationship with Himself that was lost in the Garden of Eden. When God saved your life and mine He did so to show us off as a trophy’s of His grace for the world to see and that means you have a story to tell. Your story is God’s redemption story. No matter what you have done in the past it has no bearing on what God can do in the future. God redeems our story by placing us with others who need to hear about our past so it doesn’t become their future. Failure doesn’t have to be final if we allow God to redeem it and use it to reach others.

Don’t allow your past or pride to get in the way of God’s grace. We must not forget people might appreciate our accomplishments in life but they relate to us because of our failures. What makes us relatable to others most often is our humanity and not our perceived perfection so don’t block the view. God loves us, warts and all. When we humble ourselves before one another and share the areas of our lives where we have needed and experienced God’s redemption the most, that gives people hope. In short, this is where our story becomes His story, where we can point people to the love and forgiveness of God and His desire for a relationship with them too. We must never forget, “where sin abounds, grace does all the more!” No matter how ugly our past may be, God’s grace and His mercy are bigger.

Here’s the point, most people who have yet to come to saving faith in God believe at this moment in time that they are beyond God’s reach, that they have failed one too many times. Yes, their sin has separated them from God (and they know it and feel it too) but what they don’t know is they are not beyond the reach of God. Isaiah was right when he declared, “Listen! The LORD’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call” (Isaiah 59:1). Your life and mine are proof! Every time we are willing to humble ourselves and share the length God went to save us our listeners are left thinking, “if God could save them He can save me too” and that’s exactly what we want them to know. Jesus came to save sinners. Perfect people don’t need the Lord. I do, and so do you! I’m pretty certain many people you will be around today need Jesus too. So what are you waiting for? You are a trophy of God’s grace and you have a beautiful love story to tell.

I LOVE YOU!
