Where Life Begins

I read a quote that made me laugh and one I thought would be a great advertisement for my local bike shop. It said, “Life Begins Where Your Comfort Zone Ends”. For me that quote is a tremendous encouragement about how to approach everything, from bike riding to life in general. Being over 60 years of age I have been forced to rethink “self inflicted” injuries that are brought on by my favorite hobbies. My wife and I made a decision last year to get “gravel” bikes as our “forever bike”. Our intention was to get one bike that does it all, one thats made to ride on the pavement as we have been accustomed and on the dirt trails where our road bikes couldn’t go. For us, we have discovered new roads and destinations really do begin where the pavement ends.

For the follower of Jesus, “life begins where your comfort zone ends” means embracing the resurrection of Jesus Christ and its power in our lives. For most of our lives many of the choices we make each day pass through the filter of self preservation. For the most part we take only calculated risks. Knowing Jesus as the Resurrection and the Life empowers us to really live without hesitation or reservation, to live life to the fullest with our hearts wide open. Thats what the apostle Paul was saying when he penned Philippians 3:10, “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead…”

We will never know the fullness of life Jesus offers until we are willing to go beyond our comfort zones and receive the gift of His Spirit, the gift of resurrection power. If you have been holding back in life or living in fear making your choices based on self preservation, the good news today is there is a whole world out there, roads less traveled just waiting for you. New life begins with receiving Christ and His resurrection power which removes the fear of death and dying so that we can focus on living and living life to the fullest.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

I LOVE YOU!
