Know Your Worth

“knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot”

1 Peter 1:18–19

Have you noticed that the same brand of water the same size can cost different amounts depending on where you buy it? A gas station, the grocery store, and your big box stores all carry the same size and brand of water and yet all three charge a different amount. You might think that the store determines the price or the worth of the bottled water but in all actuality the person making the purchase determines the value. A convenience store couldn’t charge you more than say a Sam’s Club if you were not willing to pay it.

When was the last time you considered your own worth? Do you know how valuable you really are? And who determines your true value any way? Some people have high self worth while others don’t think very much of themselves at all. I want you to know something today and I really hope you will take the time and ponder this thought and take it to heart. Just like a bottle of water, our worth, yours and mine is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for us. And knowing that I have some really good news for you today.

The Bible says you are a priceless treasure, so valuable God didn’t redeem your life with silver and gold because there wouldn’t have been enough to pay the price. God placed such a high value on your life that He paid for it with the blood of His One and only Son, Jesus Christ. Think about that the next time you get down on yourself or question your own value. You are worth so much to God that there is no monetary price to match. Your value is incalculable! No wonder the gospel is called good news. Heck, thats great news if you ask me. Don’t ever forget, you are a priceless treasure!

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

I LOVE YOU!
