Lessons From A Bird Feeder

Lessons from a Bird Feeder

In Matthew chapter 6 Jesus reminds us that His Father is very mindful of us at any given moment in time when he said in verse 8, “…for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” Here's something to consider today. The Father doesn’t just know what we need today, He knows exactly what we need!

Keep reading on down in Matthew 6:25-29 where Jesus goes on to say, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?  Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.”

Every time I read this passage above I am reminded of the hummingbird feeder that my wife has on our patio. Every couple of days she has to fill this giant feeder with homemade nectar. There are so many birds lined up to feed it looks like the last truck stop on I-5 for 47 miles as those little birds come from who knows where and suck that thing dry. As they eat I enjoy the satisfaction that even though its my wife filling up the feeder, its God who promised to care of the birds. My heart is always encouraged as I watch them because I am reminded that God has promised to take care of me and you too. Keep that in mind as you are flying around from place to place  today.

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

I LOVE YOU!
