Success Comes In Can's

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 15:57

What if I told your that 2022 could be the best year of your life? Would you believe me? Your answer might just reveal the difference as its impossible to live a positive life with negative thoughts. Success comes in cans not cant’s the old saying goes. Believe it or not the answer to 2022 being the best year of your life is right between your ears and right behind your eyes. Your brain and what you think is possible or not might just be the difference in how 2022 turns out for you as Proverbs 23:7 points out, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who penned the words, “Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.” Our success or failure in life is won or lost in the battle for our mind. The apostle Paul has much to say about how we go about living in victory. In Philippians 4:6-7 he writes, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The key to victorious living is learning how to replace the lies of the devil with the truth of Gods Word. Jesus told His disciples in John 8 that if they would know the truth the truth would set them free. When we bring the lies that the enemy whispers to us to Jesus and replace them with truth three things begin to happen that will pave the way to the best year of our lives. When we don’t listen to the lies of the devil but instead focus on the truth of God’s Word our thoughts begin to move from negative to positive, from worry to peace and from being self centered to others focused.

A. W. Tozer was right when he said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”  The beliefs that go through our minds each day are more important than the circumstances we encounter. While we tend to focus on the things that happen to us, the Bible focuses on our response to what happens to us. I appreciate what pastor Chuck Swindoll had to say about the power of our thinking when he said, “life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we respond to it.”

The difference between 2022 being one of if not the greatest years or the worst year of your life depends largely on both what and how you think. Change your thoughts, and you will change your destiny is exactly what the apostle Paul had in mind when he says in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Just remember, “whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”

“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long”
