Easter Tuesday

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Hebrews 13:8

Have you ever thought about how life was before that first Easter morning when the disciples found the tomb of Jesus empty just like He said and how life was every day afterwards when they believed that He had? Life changing is what comes to mind, endless hope and possibility is what I am thinking. After all, if Jesus conquered death is there really anything He can’t do? I bet that when the disciples walked after the resurrection they stood a little taller (not in pride but assurance) and were a lot more care free with regard to the worries of the world knowing how easily God could provide for everything they might have need of. The disciples now understood what the apostle Paul himself wrote about in Romans 8:31-32, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

Today is Easter Tuesday, friend, for Jesus has risen just as He said and the same joy that was ours on that first Easter morning when we learned that all Jesus said He really could do can be ours today for the simple fact that the resurrection of Jesus wasn’t just a one time event, it is a present reality. I’m not saying Jesus is raised from the dead every day. No, the Bible makes clear Jesus died and rose again once and for all but it’s important to know Jesus didn’t just rise from the dead, He conquered sin and death too. Death died when Jesus rose again from the dead. Thats why Jesus could tell Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Jesus wasn’t saying, “I do resurrection” He said, “I am” meaning that the resurrection is a present tense reality. The point being this, wherever Jesus is there is life. He’s alive and well and bringing life to everyone who believes on Him.

Do you feel lifeless today and in need of a boost? If so, why not celebrate Easter all over again today. Experience Easter Tuesday all for yourself. Read the story of Jesus resurrection again today imagining the joy the followers of Jesus felt when their eyes were opened to the fact that Jesus was alive, especially knowing all that He had suffered through. Easter Tuesday is filled with hope knowing that nothing is impossible with God. Whatever you are facing can be conquered with God’s power. Nothing you will face is too much for God to handle. Bring it all to Him and entrust yourself to Jesus. He didn’t just go to the Cross for you and rise again from the grave 2000 years ago. He is here today, alive and well with you now. It’s Easter Tuesday because God promised,

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
