Easter Changes Everything!
“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22–23
In a world of constant change one the most amazing truths of Easter this coming weekend is that one thing has never changed, one thing is not subject to change and one thing cannot be moved or shaken. That one thing is God’s love for you. As a pastor there in nothing I enjoy more than teaching and sharing the hope that “Easter Changes Everything” brings because of what the resurrection of Jesus Christ offers to the world.
If you think about it, death and decay were introduced into the world at the fall of Adam and Eve when they disobeyed and sinned against God and ever since that moment in time the world has been in a downward spiral. Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father came to earth to reverse the curse, and His life, His death, His burial and His resurrection are the proof He was successful. Death and decay have been swallowed up in sweet victory the apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth! Because of the Lord’s great mercies we are not consumed and because God’s compassions never fail, God never gives up, He never lets go. God always finishes what He starts. Thats the good news of the Gospel for me and you as “He who has begun this good work in you will complete it.” Because of Jesus, Our Heavenly Father’s compassion prevails over His consuming wrath.
One day, sooner than you might think Jesus Christ is going to return to this earth. One day, all the saints throughout human history will be gathered together with the Lord and together we will receive a glorified body, one that is not subject to death or dying, disease or decay. The earth itself will be made new as this earth and everything in it will be made new. Our proof of all this is the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the first fruits of the promise. Because Jesus lives, we can live too. Because Jesus is alive everything can be made new! Easter really does change everything for all those who believe!
