Think Again

“Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more”

Romans 5:20


If you think you have blown God’s plan for your life, think again! You are not that powerful. The apostle Paul who was born into this world into a very legalistic belief system where a person’s value and worth were determined by their faithfulness to the law. He was born again into the kingdom of God and became known as the apostle of grace not because of his failure to keep the law but rather the laws failure to achieve the perfection he sought in gaining God’s favor.

The law can never accomplish what those who attempt to keep it would hope it would for the simple fact that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The law then was not given to justify a man before God but to expose our sinfulness and to reveal our need for God, for His mercy and grace. There will be no perfect people in heaven, only forgiven people.

Don’t let your sin keep you from God, better yet, let it bring you to God. Don’t let your past failure rob you from future success. If you think you have blown God’s plan for your life, think again! You are not that powerful. Your sin as great as it might be pales in comparison to God’s grace. Remember, where sin abounds, grace does all the more! Experience it for yourself today, knowing no matter what you may have done, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
