The Gift of You

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

Romans 12:1

Your life is God’s gift to you and what you do with your life is your gift to God. The pinnacle of worship throughout the Bible is sacrifice. Whenever a sacrifice that was acceptable to God was made it was either the first born, the first fruits, the best or all the above and were by God’s design to lead us to the Cross where God would offer for us the perfect sacrifice, His One and Only Son as well as the Lamb of God who was without spot or blemish. In other words, Jesus Christ died so we could live.

Life is what Jesus came to offer us and in the book of Romans the apostle Paul reminds us that every day of our lives we have an opportunity to offer to God a living sacrifice, not one that is dead and lifeless. Because God’s mercies are new every morning we have an invitation from God each day to live not to die. Jesus died so we could enjoy life to the fullest, and a life lived to its fullest is a life lived for God. The Bible reminds us over and over again that it is more blessed to give than to receive and there is no greater gift than the gift of you. Nothing says I love you more than when we give gifts from the heart.

The best gift you can offer to God today is the gift of you, to be a living sacrifice. God isn’t asking us to take the life of anything and then offering it to Him as an act of worship. God desires that we live for Him and the best way we can do that is to talk with Him and walk with Him, seeking His will as we go about the day. Remember, the best gift you can offer to God on any day is the gift of you! Live for God who loved you and gave Himself for you!

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”

Galatians 2:20

I LOVE YOU!
