Just Because

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”

Micah 6:8

Reading the book of Micah this morning I am reminded why we should all drop to our knees to thank God that life isn’t fair for if life was fair and the definition of fair is “equal distribution” we would all be in a world of hurt for the simple fact, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” We need to thank God today and every day that He is a just God and His justice has made provision for our salvation in ways being fair never could. Romans 6:23 makes it clear, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I read a quote this morning that said, “Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean God’s not in it. Just because it hurts doesn’t mean He can’t use it. Just because you feel alone, it doesn’t mean He’s not working. Just because no one on earth applauds, it doesn’t mean Heaven’s not cheering you on. Just because others are against you doesn’t mean God’s not for you.” As 2020 comes to a close maybe you have more questions than answers. After all this year hasn’t exactly gone the way most of the world would have hoped that it would which reminds me that even though we might feel like no one understands what we are thinking or feeling or going through, it doesn’t mean that it’s true.

Remember these facts today as the year 2020 gives way to 2021. Life is hard and even though we get tired and weak God provides us the necessary strength to continue on. Because God is Triune, He sympathizes with our pain more than we could ever comprehend. When you hurt, Jesus hurts too. Because God is omnipresent, even when we must go it alone in this life, we are never truly alone as God is right there beside us each step of the way. Because God is both the Rewarder and or great reward, we are to be a people who as Micah exhorts us to do justly and love mercy as we walk humbly with Jesus throughout our days knowing one day you will meet Him face to face and as He takes you in His loving arms and he will whisper in your ear, “well done, I knew you would make it”.

“to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”

Romans 3:26

I LOVE YOU!
