People God Uses

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty”

1 Corinthians 1:27

It is said of Moses when you break down the 120 years of his life that for the first 40 year of his life he thought he was a somebody who spent the next 40 years of his life learning he was a nobody so that in the last 40 years of his life he would know it is God who takes nobodies and makes them become somebody. Jesus on the other hand is a somebody who made Himself a nobody in order to save everybody who would place their hope in Him. And because of Jesus, like you, I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who saved my soul.

Oh that you and I would know and appreciate God’s forgiveness fresh each day! It’s life changing. Look at the impact God’s forgiveness had on the life of Israel’s beloved king. The Lord Himself said that King David was a man after God’s own heart and if you read Psalm 51:10-13 you might understand better why when David pleaded with God, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You.” In other words, David was wanting to live out Jesus words in Luke 7:47, “Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little." David loved God much for he knew how much he was forgiven. How about you?

Do you know how much you have been forgiven? Are you aware of the love and grace and mercy God has shown to you? Oh, don’t worry, loved one about trying to go back and rehash your past misdeeds as you wouldn’t even scratch the surface of the sins each of us has committed. Sin’s, if not committed outwardly by our actions, then inwardly by our thoughts and attitudes. It’s been well said, the greatest sins you and I commit are not the sins of commission, but those of omission. If you want to comprehend the depth of your sin just look to the Cross of Jesus, who knew no sin but became sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. The Cross reveals to each of us the extent God went to redeem us. The Cross is our motivation today to let the whole world know that somebody loves you!

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed”

Luke 4:18

I LOVE YOU!
