4 Steps To A Great Day

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:7

Working with our Children’s Director on brand new curriculum for our upcoming school year causes you to examine the Christian faith in its most basic form. Everything gets broken down into steps. That got me thinking of the “4 steps” we should learn to take each day that is found in Psalm 28:7. Four simple steps that I am positive if we would take each day there would be more hop in our step, less worry and a whole lot more joy. Try it for yourself and see. Just take one step after the other. The good news is you can do this even sitting down!

Step one: Remember that the Lord is our strength and our shield so that no matter what comes our way today remember that God will provide for us the strength to bear it and provide the needed protection as He Himself will be with us so that we can take refuge in Him.

Step two: Knowing we can always take refuge in Him allows our hearts to be at rest. Like the song, “Lean on Me” we can lean on Jesus, and rest in His unfailing love. Lean on Jesus when you feel like your strength is failing.

Step three: When you consider how much you are loved by God today your heart can’t help but rejoice. When you realize that God is always there for you, a peace begins to overflow your heart and mind helping you to relax and quit striving, quit worrying, and you start living.

Step four: When you open your heart to the love of God you can’t contain it or yourself. If you have ever been in love, I mean really in love, songs of gratitude begin to fill your heart, and they just flow from your lips as naturally as breathing.

There you have it loved one, four simple steps that serve to help us live life to the fullest today and every day. Just put one foot in front of the other as you walk in faith today. Don’t focus on your feet, focus on keeping your eyes on Jesus, and learn to follow His lead and in no time at all you will be doing the “4 Step” like a pro!

"He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber."

Psalms 121:3

I LOVE YOU!
