"In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears."

2 Samuel 22:7

Its been a few years ago now when during morning prayer at our church one of our most faithful prayer warriors was sharing how she knew the Lord was always taking care of her and she shared one of the special ways He does and how the majority of time his love and care is revealed through people. Thats why Jesus came in the flesh. He came to reveal the Father’s love and to purchase us back to God by taking our place on Calvary's Cross. When Jesus finished the work He came to do here on earth He returned home to continue on in His ministry there of praying for and preparing a place for us with Him in glory. At the present time God has chosen to work through people filled with His Spirit. God reveals His love in amazing ways, sometimes in ways if you were not aware you would never know.

My friend lives in a neighborhood that would make most people sleep with one eye open and their NRA card lying on their night stand but not her. She has placed her trust in the Lord and each night as she goes to sleep she talks to Jesus as she casts all her cares on Him because she knows He cares for her. I am always humbled when I hear her speak and share about the love she has for God and the joy He has brought to her life as she grows in Him and is transformed into His image. She knows first hand the safest place to be is in the center of God’s will and she seeks to rest there.

Its been a few years now since she shared about how she has a "special" friend who she can always count on when things break in her home. She has a friend who she believes is sent from God and not just a "godsend". She really believes God brings along the right people at just the right time when there is a need in her life. She isn't looking for people she is looking too and trusting God. It’s just that nine times out of ten God sends a real person as His ambassador in our time of need. That's why Jesus came in the flesh!

As I listened to my friend share I felt the Lord nudging my heart to remember what she was saying so that I could share it with you today, my friends. This morning God sent her another friend, a friend she didn’t even know a few years ago who is there today volunteering his time and skill to bless her, proof once again God reveals to us His love and care though people. Who do you call when life breaks was the thought that kept running through my mind? Sure we can call a mechanic when the car gives out, a carpenter when the roof leaks, but who do you reach out to when life breaks?

We do well to remember that we are broken people living in a broken world living among other broken people and the good news today is there is One person each of us can call on who is capable of both healing and restoring us back to wholeness and that is God, and only God. Listen to the words of Psalms 103:1-5, "A Psalm of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's."

Besides all the above God never sleeps nor slumbers and is available 24/7 to listen, to direct and help and comfort us whenever the need arises. God understands the pains associated with this life and it’s why Jesus is the One we should turn to when life breaks. He understands us more than anyone else could and cares about us because He knows us from the inside out. Isaiah 53:3-5 reminds us of what Jesus went through for us and what His life provides for ours. Isaiah wrote, "He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. and we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." Yes, by His stripes we are healed!

Remember that the next time life breaks. Who are you going to call for help? Reach out to Jesus, as a friend once shared with me I'll share with you. Did you know God has a phone number? He does and His phone number is Jeremiah 33:3, which reminds us, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Oh what a friend we have in Jesus! If you find yourself in need today, call Him.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

Jeremiah 29:11-13

I LOVE YOU!
