Desire, Discipline, Delight

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

Tim Redman once said, “Many things will capture my eye but few things will capture my heart”
Keeping Jesus between you and everything and everyone else protects our heart from being led astray by the trappings of this world.  The apostle John wrote, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever (John 2:15-17).

Yes, loved one, there is a battle raging for our hearts as well as those we love and our best defense is staying on the offensive, awake and alert. Our victory is in Jesus, it will always be in Jesus. Desire, Discipline, and Delight many life coaches and personal trainers teach their clients. It’s been said it takes 23 straight days to make or break a habit. If that is true and you desire to have a deeper walk with Jesus then discipline yourself every day to spend time seeking Him, spending time in His Word and praying about the people and places and things in your own life. In no time at all you will have moved from desire, through discipline and onto delight. Yes, loved one, God desire for us that we discipline ourselves in Him knowing...

“Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

Psalm 37:4
