Escape Artists

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13

The more you read your bible the clearer it becomes that the Lord wants His children to learn how to escape situations that would seek to harm us. God has made a way of escape of both sin and death through one door and one door only. Jesus Christ is the door of escape that the Father has provided for our eternal safety and security. The key to victory in our lives is when temptation comes knocking is to allow Jesus to answer the door for us. Try this the next time you are tempted. The next time you sense you are being tempted don’t try to be strong in and of yourself. Don’t try to figure out how to stand up to the temptations that come our way. Just ask Jesus to answer the door for you instead.

The Bible never suggests that we face our temptations or try to conquer them. Actually it’s just the opposite. We are called of God to flee our temptations, to escape their very presence. Don’t mess with temptation, just look for the escape and run. Run to the door God provides and don’t look back. Remember God’s promise. In every temptation, not some, but in all God will make a way of escape. Thats the good news of the gospel! Because of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord we can escape sin, we can escape death, we can escape temptation, we can escape judgment, we can escape the wrath of God. And all because…

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

John 8:36
