Heavenly Reminders

“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?”

Psalm 8:4

We have all sorts of technology to help us remember important things. From alarm clocks, text messaging reminders, prompts and phone calls to emails. There are many ways we can be reminded of what is important. What in your life reminds you that God loves you? My brother gave me a plaque years ago that I love and on it is a quote by Abraham Lincoln that says something like this, “I can see how a man might look down upon the earth and be an atheist but I can not perceive how he can look up into the heavens and say there is no God.”

The bible makes very clear that God reveals Himself in creation, all around us so that all men are without excuse regarding the existence of God. No one who has ever looked up at the stars will ever be able to stand before God and deny His existence because as His word declares God is all around us and He is in everything, for by Him all things were created on heaven and earth. We get to see His handiwork each day (or night) if only we would stop long enough to notice.

Each time I stand outside in the dark looking up at Danielle's star hanging there in the sky I am reminded of God's amazing love. I know there are many days in my life when I miss it, when I am not aware of God as I dont sense His presence in my life. I get going so fast at times I am unaware of all that God has done for me. Then there are days when I sense His presence in everything I see, think and feel. Man oh man, how I wish I could bottle up those days. I'm praying today will be one of those days for me and you!

May you hear the voice of God today as you open up your Bible and may His voice bring you comfort, may it bring you strength and bring  you joy.  May you look around and respond like king David who penned Psalm 8 and could not help declare as he stood out and looked up into the heavens at the moon and the stars and proclaimed, “O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, who have set Your glory above the heavens!”

Why did David respond the way he did you might be thinking, and what was it that was in David’s heart? Well, loved one, I pray it’s the same thing that fills your heart and mind today too. David was simply overwhelmed when he looked up into the heavens and saw how vast the universe is and then realized that even as huge as God is, God was mindful of him.

That’s what I pray you realize today too. The God who created the universe and all that lies with in it, He is small enough to take up rsidence in our hearts too! God is mindful of you, loved one, no matter how busy you think God is or should be because of how awesome the universe is. Regardless of the how vast our universe is, He is still thinking about you, and you are always on His mind. If only you and I would realize that today, friend, we too would join king David and the host of heaven in singing...

“O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!”

Psalm 8:1

I LOVE YOU!
