How God Saved The World

Last week we saw how God was working in the heart of a seeker and how God was working in the heart of the one seeking the seeker. Acts chapter 10 in many ways is the tale of two conversions, first the apostle Peter who was raised as a good practicing Jew who believed that being God’s chosen people made them just a little better than the rest of the world and is why Jews and gentiles didn’t mix when it came to salvation. Peter had no idea that God was opening the door for the whole world to be saved. Then you have Cornelius, a Roman officer, a centurion, a “god fearer” who came to love the God of Israel. He became monotheistic rejecting the Roman pantheon, and who prayed faithfully and gave alms to the poor.
