John 18-19
Aug 19, 2026 • John Jones
Tonight we continue our journey through The Gospel of John with John 18–19, following Jesus from His arrest in the garden, through His trials before the Jewish leaders and Pilate, to the cross. We’ll see that Jesus was never a helpless victim. Even in His arrest and crucifixion, He remained fully in control, willingly drinking the cup the Father had given Him. We’ll examine His words to Pilate, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, the significance of the inscription placed above the cross, and Jesus’ final declaration: “It is finished!” This is the heart of the Gospel—the innocent Son of God willingly giving His life for sinners.
