The Helper, Our Hope, and Our Peace

Jul 29, 2026    John Jones

Join us tonight as Pastor John Jones continues our verse-by-verse study through the Gospel of John.

In John 15–16, Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure and the trials that are ahead. He promises the coming of the Holy Spirit—the Helper, Comforter, Testifier, Convictor, and Guide into truth. Jesus also reminds His disciples that their sorrow will be turned into joy and that, even in the midst of tribulation, they can have peace because He has overcome the world.

Tonight we’ll look at:

The distinct persons and unified work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

How the Holy Spirit testifies of and glorifies Jesus.

The promise that sorrow can be turned into lasting joy.

What it means to pray in Jesus’ name.

The assurance that God loves His children.

How we can have peace even in the midst of tribulation.

Jesus’ final encouragement: “Take courage; I have overcome the world.”
