The Mercy of the Pause

Revelation 10 reminds us that even though God

sent Jesus to earth to save us, and now has paused

not once but twice in his justified wrath against a

rebellious world, people still want to blame God for

not rescuing them from the wrath that is both here

now and coming upon them in Revelation 10.

God’s wrath is righteous because He must judge

evil, but His judgment is never reckless, cruel, or

impulsive. Even in wrath, God pauses to make room

for repentance, because His desire is never

separation, but reconciliation.
