The Great Adventure

As we turn to Acts 4 this morning let me remind you where we have been. On the day of Pentecost, 120 followers of Christ that had gathered in an upper room and the Holy Spirit came upon each one. It was the very beginning of the church, the day the church was born. We study with interest to see what they did and what they dedicated their lives to doing… Christianity is a relationship not a religion. It’s not just a Sunday thing, it’s a daily coming together. The first church dedicated themselves daily to the apostle's doctrine and fellowship the breaking of bread and prayer. It didn't just change their lives as we see from studying the book of Acts, it changed the world.

Remember, it was Jesus who said He would build His church and on that day, the day of Pentecost the church was born. Remember as we study the book of Acts we are not studying so much what the apostles did as much as we are focusing on what the Holy Spirit did in and through the apostles.
