Esther is one of two books in the Bible named after women, Ruth and Esther. The book of Esther is interesting in that the name of God is not mentioned. The ruler who is featured in the book, is mentioned 175 times; God is never mentioned. And yet to anyone who reads with understanding, God is the main character in the book. God’s sovereign power is on display in amazing ways, even though He is unnamed and choosing to work behind the scenes.
