"You Look Marvelous"

"being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"

Philippians 1:6

It was Soren Kierkegaad who said, "Now, with God's help, I shall become myself." Easier said than done in this world for the simple reason that there is the pressure both internal and external, seen and unseen that is seeking to press each of us into a mold that wasn't meant for us. Recognizing this as he went from place to place sharing about the liberty that is in Christ and coming into contact with throngs of people, the apostle Paul under inspiration of the Holy Spirit pens the words of Romans 12:1-2 to us, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

In other words Paul was saying, do not let, don't allow this world to make you into something you were never meant to be. There is an old saying, "We are all born originals, but sadly most of us die copies of someone else." You and I were meant to be one of a kind, originals, and as God's Word declares, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). The word for workmanship in the Greek language is "work of art", "God's masterpiece"! To become everything God would have us be we must determine to follow Jesus and not the crowd. It's the road less traveled for sure that will get you where you need and want to truly go in this life.

Jesus said it best, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:13-14). Few there be that find it only because the majority miss the simplicity of the Gospel because they are following the crowd that says all roads lead to heaven, not realizing that there is in fact, in truth, only one way that leads to life and that is through Jesus Christ, God's Only son.

Take Jesus at His Word today, accept His wonderful invitation to, "follow Me" as He said, understanding to do that we do well to heed the words of the writer of the book of Hebrews who reminds us, "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). In other words, to follow Him and not the crowd today, don't just look to Jesus but as well, keep looking to Jesus, don't take your eyes off Him.

Its safe to say as we consider Jesus life He didn't follow the crowds but rather the crowds followed Him. If you too want to enjoy the fullness of life that Jesus desires each of us to live, determine today to accept His invitation, and like Peter and the rest of the disciples, drop your nets as it were and pick up your cross and follow Him. Spend the rest of your life learning the reason you were born, why you are here and what are the plans God has for you. Its both life changing and life giving to tap into the very thing God tapped into you for. Don't miss out.

Yes, loved one, God has a plan that includes you! Jeremiah 29:11 shares that exact thought, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Knowing God has a plan that includes you resolve in your heart to run hard after God today keeping in mind the words of the psalmist who wrote,

"I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart. Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it."

Psalm 119:32-35
