"The Flesh Dies Hard"

image1
"So Saul, his three sons, his armorbearer, and all his men died together that same day."

1 Samuel 31:6

A sad ending to what could have been promising lives. That can be said about every person who has ever breathed the breath of life yet died not knowing the Lord. You see, friend, it doesn't matter what we accomplish in this life, it doesn't matter how much money we make, where we work, the number of toys we possess, all that matters when it is all said and done is did we live for the Lord, did we know Him personally as Savior and Lord?

The flesh dies hard is the message of Saul's life. He trusted in himself instead of trusting in God like David did. The world says, "those who live by the sword die by the sword" and that's true in the world. But, in Christ, those who live by the sword of God's Spirit, which is the Word of God, they go from victory to victory! Walk with God, walk in His Word today and the victory is yours!

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12
