Easter Every Day!

"But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him."

Mark 16:6

Don't let the title mislead you to believe that Jesus dies daily so that He can rise again. Scripture is perfectly clear that Jesus died once and for all and then after rising from the dead He sat down at the right hand of the Father never to die again! Our salvation is eternally secure as it was finished at the Cross of Calvary where Jesus shed His blood for us. That's why Jesus death and burial and resurrection are called the good news of the gospel. Jesus not only died for us, He rose again for us too!

Let me ask you a serious question today. Do you need hope, loved one? If so, know this, Jesus is still risen! And not only is Jesus risen still, "… He (Jesus), because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:24-25).

You might be thinking, what does the resurrection of Jesus do to give me hope? Jesus resurrection from the dead means nothing is impossible for God and because of that, no matter what you are up against today you can have hope, but not just any kind of hope. Hope isn't exclusive to the Christian faith, only hope that doesn't disappoint is. What I mean is, people hope for a lot of things that don't necessarily work out the way they might hope. Things like hoping for a new car, a new house, a better paying job, good weather, good health, a good marriage, good kids and the list goes on and on. You name it and people hope for it. The unfortunate thing about misplaced hope is that it will leave you often times both disillusioned and disappointed.

There is only one hope that won't leave you disappointed, friend, and that is the hope we place in God. God Himself stands by that promise and He proves it over and over again throughout the scriptures. Listen to what the Lord speaks through the prophet Isaiah, "Kings will be your foster-fathers and their princesses, your foster-mothers. They will fall prostrate before you, faces to the ground, and lick the dust at your feet. And you will know that I am Yahweh; those who hope in me will not be disappointed." (Isaiah 49:23 (NJB). Read that last part again out loud, "those who hope in me will not be disappointed." Because Jesus is risen, and because He forever lives to make intercession for us we really can enjoy the benefits of Easter Every Day! All that is required of us is faith, and not even faith in ourselves or faith in our faith. To enjoy all the benefits of Easter everyday start your day by placing your hope in God.

"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken."

Psalm 62:5-6 (NIV)

I LOVE YOU!
